Press:

"An honestly strait-laced depiction of alternative sexuality that dared to play by the same rules as any other respectable costume drama." - The Guardian

"A film so handsome to look at and so intelligently acted that it is worth seeing just to regard the production. Scene after scene is perfectly created." ★★★ - Roger Ebert
